Manufacturing/Tooling Engineer

Description Job Summary: The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve quality, productivity, and cost performance. This role requires extensive experience in supplier management and tooling. Key Responsibilities: • Process Development: Design and conduct research programs to develop new manufacturing processes, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials (Processes to include spot weld, press brake, welding, mechanical inspection, and manual straightening). • Supplier Management: Interface with suppliers to verify tool construction, develop new process designs, and ensure quality standards are met. • Tooling: Develop, implement, and maintain tooling and fixtures to optimize manufacturing processes. • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness (Sheet metal fabrication and the above processes). • Project Management: Plan, specify, select, validate, and implement new equipment, processes, and facilities in manufacturing. • Problem Solving: Identify and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing process problems through testing, evaluation, and analysis. • Documentation: Create and maintain manufacturing documents, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Skills manufacturing engineering, process, tooling & fixture design Additional Skills & Qualifications Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on supplier management and tooling. • Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), strong problem-solving skills, and experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or ISO standards are preferred. Desired Attributes: • Strong communication and leadership skills. • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient and effective manufacturing processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering strong supplier relationships.
