Job purpose

The System Engineer will use professional technology skills and experience to maintain and enhance all network infrastructure, servers, storage hardware, virtualization technology, application management and end user support. This includes network security, network management and troubleshooting, selecting, and installing new applications, distributing software upgrades, monitoring daily activities, leading IT department projects. Main contact will be with the Director Of IT, Strategic Partners / Consultants, and end users. The work may include the use of manuals, guidelines or other established procedures containing or relating to highly technical, scientific, legal, financial, or other similarly complex matters that can be understood or interpreted only by those with advanced or specialized knowledge or skills.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Designs, implements, installs, and manages major company infrastructure and initiatives.
  • Manages multi-user computer systems.
  • Troubleshoots and supports major computer networks across multiple locations.
  • Main Point of Contact for support issues and escalations
  • Performs system maintenance, including patching and vulnerability response.
  • Leads cloud initiatives in a Microsoft environment.
  • Manage ticketing system, ensuring proper response times and ticket notes.
  • Implements standards and creates proper Standard Operation Procedure documentation.
  • Diagnoses hardware and software problems documenting root causes.
  • Sets up user accounts and resolves user problems, user requests and user errors.
  • Works as a team with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Maintains and manages company confidentiality and security of information systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Abilities/Skills
  • Four-year degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Microsoft Azure experience.
  • Azure Active Directory experience.
  • Microsoft Intune experience.
  • One to Three years of experience in an IT Support Role.
  • Experience administering and managing multi-location environments.
  • Administration experience within a Microsoft 365 and Meraki environment.

Work Environment

The work is performed mainly in a normal office environment or a computer room, which is often cooler than a normal office. Occasionally, work is performed on the Production Floor where temperatures range from cold to warm and can be noisy. (PPE will be provided).
