About the Role:
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across all processes. This is a decision-making position requiring the development and operation of quality control systems, the application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures, and the ability to diagnose and correct quality issues using advanced metrology, statistical, and analytical methodologies. Your expertise will support various departments, ensuring that our products meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Champion:
- Adhere to required safety precautions.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify safety precautions for new equipment and processes.
- Optimize safety and minimize risk.
2. Management and Leadership:
- Apply quality tools, interpret data, and effectively apply team concepts as both a member and a leader.
- Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Determine and analyze data necessary for supporting functional groups.
- Apply root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions, and manage non-conforming materials.
- Complete equipment quality validations and verifications.
- Execute gage R&R studies and correlation tests.
- Support contract reviews and provide quality training for new employees.
- Generate paperwork for nonconforming materials.
- Set up and operate mechanical and magnetic inspection equipment.
3. Configuration Management Expert:
- Review and revise work instructions to ensure accuracy.
- Create routing changes to be implemented in the ERP system.
4. Technical Support:
- Prepare Excel spreadsheets, graphs, charts, Word documents, and Minitab projects for internal and external customers.
- Conduct magnetic calculations and establish correlations between customer data and EEC magnetic data.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers and maintain logs, databases, and control charts as required.
5. Production Support:
- Provide direction and support to quality inspectors to meet production schedules.
- Maintain customer-supplied materials, equipment, and standards.
- Support magnetizing, magnetic testing, and assembly plotting.
- Serve as the Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) for GE and GE affiliates.
- Provide training on production processes, quality processes, and magnetics.
- Run production jobs as needed based on operational demand.
Accountability of Employees:
- Use your best efforts and full capability to achieve the outputs assigned.
- Inform your manager promptly when challenges arise or when more can be done, allowing for adaptive actions.
- Share ideas that may be helpful with your manager.
- Seek special dispensation from your manager if unable to perform at your best.
