Job Overview

The Clinical Education Specialist job description is in alignment with the Association of Nurses in Professional Development (ANPD). ANPD is the practice and thought leader for nursing professional development and the specialty practice organization upon which education specialists base their professional activities. ANPD has identified six core standards of practice on which this job description was heavily influenced: competency management, education, role development, orientation/onboarding, research/EBP/QI, and collaborative partnerships.

Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level 4, 82-bed regional referral center for the seven-state region with a platinum-level designation for ECMO. We treat neonate, infant and pediatric patients less than 2 years old with conditions including hypoxemic respiratory failure, infections, hematological, neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic disorders, single major or multiple anomalies requiring diagnostic work-up and/or surgical intervention. We provide continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), renal dialysis and body cooling for neonates among many other therapies to provide the highest level of neonatal care to infants and their families. The culture in the NICU includes great teamwork and support for nurses who are learning and growing. Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent with post-master's certification in education
  • Experience: 5 years of clinical pediatric experience. Previous Level IV NICU experience very strongly preferred.
  • Certification(s): BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire, American Nurses Credentialing Center(ANCC) or Magnet approved certification.
  • Licensure(s): Current Colorado RN License

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $97,718.13 to $146,577.19
Hourly Salary Range: $46.98 to $70.47
