About the Facility:
This is a hospital work setting, where you will be providing care to the highest level of care for premature and ill newborns, as designated by The American Academy of Pediatrics in a level 1 Trauma Center and is a teaching hospital. Total staffed beds are 323 inpatient beds - 70 of them dedicated to Neonatal ICU.
Polysomnographer/Sleep Technician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Polysomnographer/Sleep Technician performs comprehensive (NPSG) studies for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders under the general supervision of a Sleep Lab Director.
- Conduct technical procedures such as diagnostic NPSG, CPAP/BPAP/ASV titration, non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, split-night studies, and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLTs) as required.
- The Polysomnographer/Sleep Technician educates patients and their families regarding diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Set up and maintain monitors for sleep studies, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Perform routine care and maintenance of sleep study equipment, including evaluating inventory and washing reusable equipment.
- Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to guide the course of treatment.
- The Polysomnographer/Sleep Technician implements appropriate interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention, such as administering positive airway pressure, oxygen, etc.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of recent experience as a Sleep Technician, with some experience working with pediatric patients.
- Licensure: Must hold a valid DC license and possess RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) and BPRT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists) certifications.
- Immunizations: Must have updated COVID-19 immunizations, including all required boosters.
