*This employee would need to be available Mon-Fri, 7:45am-6pm. This is a FLOAT position supporting different providers at different times, so there is not a guaranteed time off. Employee will be expected to stay until provider is finished.
Primary Responsibilities:
-
Prepare examination rooms and sterilizing equipment
-
Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKG’s
-
Administer injections and collect specimens
-
Document patient care using NextGen electronic medical record software
-
Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork
-
Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor, in-office procedures

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
-
Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) or you must be willing to attain that certification within 9 months of start date

Medical Assistant diploma, technical certificate or certification OR 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training OR Current enrollment in an accredited medical assistant training program OR ActiveEMT certification accredited
Preferred Qualifications:

CPR certification
-
Additional healthcare certifications including ARRT, CEHRS, CBCS, CMAA, CPT
-
Experience working as a Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician
-
EMR/EHR experience
-
Experience with NextGen medical record software
-
Experience with medical front office and back office duties including vitals, phlebotomy, injections, casting/splinting, administering medications, referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance verifications
