JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: MAHI Technical and Operations Specialist WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Adult Learning,

Employee Wellness & Community Engagement PAY GRADE: Admin Prof 2 (230 days)

DEPARTMENT: State/Federal Programs DATE REVISED: 05/2024

This position is not eligible for a Chapter 21 contract. A Letter of Assurance will be issued.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Magda A. Hernandez Institute of Wellness and Professional Learning (MAHI) Technical and Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting all technology needs within the MAHI building, maintaining a dynamic social media presence, promoting events and classes, and assisting various department needs as needed. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity in social media management, and strong organizational skills to effectively promote MAHI's activities and services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as Information Technology, or related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in using various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Strong graphic design skills for creating promotional materials
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
Minimum Experience:
  • At least three (3) years of experience in technology support, social media management, and operating large scale events
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Provide comprehensive technical support for the MAHI programs, ensuring all technology-related needs are met efficiently and effectively.
  2. Maintain and enhance the program's presence on social media platforms by creating engaging content, monitoring interactions, and growing the online community.
  3. Assist in the planning and execution of events, ensuring all technical and promotional aspects are seamlessly integrated.
  4. Provide support to various departments within MAHI as needed, contributing to a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  5. Develop and curate content for newsletters, websites, and other communication channels to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  6. Track and analyze event participation data to measure the effectiveness of implemented programs and make data-driven improvements.
  7. Act as a liaison between MAHI and its participants, providing clear and helpful information about upcoming events and resources.
  8. Stay updated with the latest technology and outreach trends to continuously improve program's effectiveness and engagement strategies.
  9. Assist in other duties as assigned by Executive Director

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must work on multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines. Work within tight deadlines. Occasional in-district and out of district travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Must be able to carry 20 IBS.

Physical Demands: Frequent in-district and occasional in-state travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
