To make an impact as an NNP in the NICU at the UF Health Shands, you will:

  • Assist attending NICU physician in the care and management of patients.
  • Coordinate continuity of patient care and contribute to the daily care of NICU patients.
  • Make frequent rounds to assess the status of patients, identify alterations in patient health, and assess patient response to treatment.
  • Implement nursing interventions based upon established treatment protocols and anticipate potential outcomes for those at risk for complications.
  • Write orders, interact with consultants and coordinate scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures.

To achieve excellence in this full-time role, we're looking for:

  • A current and clear license as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in Florida.
  • NICU experience is strongly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • You must meet requirements set forth by the medical staff office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as an ACNP within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF HealthCare Network, as applicable.
