JOB DESCRIPTION: Technicians will be installing and repairing data communications lines and equipment, staging, configuring and supporting a wide selection of retail and network equipment including but not limited to traffic counters, point of sale servers, cash registers, wireless access points, amps, camera’s, routers and switches. This position will require a dynamic person with good troubleshooting skills as well as customer service capabilities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with various retail and network technologies, equipment and capabilities.

Role and Responsibilities:
•Review and complete work orders to move, change, install, repair, or remove data communications equipment such as cabling, wires, POS, CCTV, phone systems, computer terminals, audio systems, DVR’s, digital signage, traffic monitoring systems and analytics, people counters, as well as wireless RF units.
•Read technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment
•Measure, cut, splice, and install wires and cables
•Connect microcomputer or terminal to data communication lines
•Disassemble equipment and inspects and tests wiring to locate and repair problem
•Modify equipment in accordance with user request
•Test communication lines to ensure that specifications are met
•Enter commands into computer to test equipment
•Read messages on computer screen to verify that data is being transmitted between locations according to specifications
•Plan layout and installation of data communications equipment
•Demonstrate use of equipment

Qualifications:
•BICSI 1 and 2 certification preferred.
•Experience in cabling (3 years preferred)
•Phone systems experience (3 years preferred)
•Traveling required – some overnights
•Available to work evenings, weekends, and overtime
•Must maintain a valid Driver’s License
•Driving Record must be incident free for last 3 years
•Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
•Able to climb 12 ft ladder
•Able to sit, stand, kneel and/or walk for long periods of time Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• 75% Continuously required to stand
• 50% Frequently required to walk
• 100% Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
• 75% Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• 75% Frequently required to talk or hear
• 50% Continually work near moving mechanical parts
• 50% Occasionally work in high, precarious places
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually Quiet/Moderate/Loud.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
