Summary:

The benefits Consultant will provide consulting services on all aspects of Health & Welfare Benefits for our clients. This position serves as a key point of contact for our clients.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Provide technical assistance for the firm's projects and engagements.
  • Provide benefit strategy development, data analytics and cost and utilization analysis.
  • Perform vendor solicitation and implementation.
  • Participate in compliance support.
  • Perform analysis of healthcare data to identify relationships between demographics, claims data and clinical outcomes.
  • Develop utilization reports using HDMS data analytic tool.
  • Analyze financial metrics related to health and welfare benefit plans (e.g. medical, dental, vision, well-being, disability, etc.) in coordination with the actuarial and analytics team.
  • Support ad-hoc client requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Industry experience, ideally 5+ years in health and welfare consulting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong math and statistics skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Data analytics experience
Preferred
  • Underwriting training/experience strongly preferred
Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
  • Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day.
  • Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.
  • Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
  • Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to travel to client meetings both locally and out of town as needed.
