Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general direction, the Construction Supervisor provides direction and the overall technical construction management of all Carillon projects. Directs and manages Carillon's renovation program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Provides professional-level coordination of subordinate staff engaged in managing construction inspection and renovation activities.
  • Prepares and maintains all necessary renovation documentation, assuring a consistent, legally sufficient, safe, and cost-effective construction management process.
  • Initiates final inspections, assuring the project's completion and final acceptance, including necessary warranties and resolution of liquidated damages.
  • Performs construction-related duties such as: form setting, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and excavations.
  • Operates company trucks for the purpose of transporting workers, construction materials, and light equipment.
  • Performs daily tasks in a safe and workmanlike manner per company policies.
  • Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor.
  • Assures the department meets specifically assigned ongoing and annual operational and financial objectives.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY
  • Knowledge of construction management methods.
  • Knowledge of equipment used in construction or other related work.
  • Significant knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices and sound judgment and leadership skills.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with others.
  • Have the ability to train others.
  • Have the ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Have the ability to lift and carry equipment or materials applicable to the assigned work.
  • Have the ability to understand oral and written instructions.
  • Have the ability to read and follow blueprints and diagrams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Have a High School diploma/GED required; a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a closely related field preferred. Experience can be substituted for education.
  • Have a minimum of four years experience in construction, maintenance, general labor services and at least one year of management or supervisory experience.
