Our Construction Management Team in Orange County has an opportunity for a talented Resident Engineer / Structures Representative. Explore this opportunity with Psomas and apply today About being our Resident Engineer / Structures Representative As our Resident Engineer / Structures Representative, you will work independently under general supervision and in conjunction with the Owner's Project Manager to compose and issue field orders, initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate cost of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Owner's Project Manager. Responsibility Highlights for our Resident Engineer / Structures Representative Provides pre-construction services including bid-ability/constructability reviews and bidding services Provides contract administration, review contractor's schedule, respond to claims received from contractor, documenting progress of project, and respond to requests for information, submittals and change orders Provides monitoring of project in accordance with approved plans, specifications, budget, and schedule Daily personal interactions/coordination with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies Directs and supervises field construction management staff and their activities and other Psomas/Owner sub-consultants, as directed Facilitates project delivery and the resolution of project issues in a fair and firm manner Minimum Qualifications to be our Resident Engineer / Structures Representative Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field Demonstrated experience administering Caltrans and local agency contracts 10+ years' construction management or project management experience Ability to travel between project sites and office facilities Ability to work on-site in a construction trailer or building where exposure to heights, ability to walk on uneven surface, stand, climb ladders, crawl, stoop, enter confined spaces, tolerate heat, cold, dirt, odors, wastewater, chemicals, and other construction hazards that may exist.
