Description:

The Joint Test and Evaluation Program Office (JPO) is seeking an engineering professional to help develop the Digital Engineering (DE) effort within the JPO Integration Lab. This role will focus on leveraging state of the art technologies and methodologies to enable digital transformation across program outcomes. This includes Digital Twin systems, Al, and other data-driven technologies. The SSE will be responsible for identifying, developing, and integrating digital tools, modeling methodologies, and data-driven approaches for operational test and evaluation. The SSE will also have experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Modeling and Simulation (M&S). The SSE will collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, software development teams, and data scientists to integrate digital solutions into the project workflow.

Job Description Responsibilities:

Identifies, implements, and integrates strategic initiatives supporting Department of Defense system development within the JPO Integration Lab.

Independently defines optimal approaches for enabling digital engineering across program outcomes.

Develops novel methodologies using model-based approaches to enable digital transformation over legacy systems and processes.

Defines requirements and develops Digital Twin ecosystems using digital engineering tools, techniques, and procedures.

Streamlines processes, improves accuracy, reduces costs, and accelerates time-to-market for digital engineering projects.

Serves as a technical authority responsible for ensuring trustworthiness of complex systems and system-of-system designs and requirements.

Supports the organization in developing data driven approaches to revitalize product and program outcomes.

Solves problems and resolves conflicts to assure successful project completion and organizational initiatives within cost/schedule requirements.

Prepares and presents influential papers and briefings on significant developments in digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements:

Must have experience in SysML, Microsoft AZURE, Azure Digital Twin, Digital Twin Definition Language, Python, C++.

Experience with ML/Al development is desirable and using digital engineering tools to develop Digital Twin Ecosystems.

Knowledge of professional systems engineering concepts, principles, standards, methods, and techniques to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.

Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply novel applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of operational test and evaluation.

Knowledge of digital engineering methods, techniques, and practices as they pertain to the development of model-based and data driven system design.

Knowledge of data science methodologies, to include rules-based and ML-based Al systems.

Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches, and to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management.
