SUMMARY
Join our team as a Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologist and play a vital role in assisting physicians with diagnosis and treatment through accurate performance of clinical laboratory analyses. We provide top-notch patient care in a welcoming and compassionate environment at Massena Hospital.

STATUS: Per Diem
LOCATION: Massena Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Laboratory Services
SCHEDULE: Primarily days; 8-hour shifts

  • BS in Medical Technology or BS in a related Science and/or equivalent relevant experience as recognized by New York State Department of Education for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
  • Previous experience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory a benefit, but not required
  • New York State Department of Education License or Limited Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, required
  • Certification by ASCP preferred, but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately perform testing in a timely manner
  • Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition in order to explain test results
  • Communicate stat and critical lab results and prolonged instrument malfunctions causing delays in test results to medical personnel
  • Teach in the School of Medical Technology and Lab rotations when called upon to do so

EDUCATION: BS in Medical Technology or related Science and/or equivalent relevant experience
