Job Title: Hospital Readiness Systems Coordinator
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain hospital readiness and emergency response plans, ensuring the hospital is prepared to manage a wide range of emergencies, including natural disasters, mass casualty events, and public health crises.
- Coordinate training programs and simulation exercises for hospital staff to improve preparedness and response capabilities, ensuring all personnel are familiar with emergency procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as other healthcare facilities, to ensure seamless communication and coordination during emergencies or disaster situations.
- Monitor and assess the hospital's emergency systems, including equipment, supplies, and communication technologies, to ensure they are functional and ready for immediate deployment during an emergency.
- Maintain and update readiness databases and documentation, ensuring that all emergency response plans, inventory, and contact information are current and accessible.
- Lead hospital-wide drills and exercises to test readiness and identify areas for improvement, providing detailed after-action reports and recommendations to hospital leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency preparedness, hospital readiness, or disaster management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of hospital operations, emergency response protocols, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare readiness and disaster preparedness.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities under pressure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with hospital staff, external agencies, and leadership teams.
- Certification in Hospital Emergency Response or Incident Command System (ICS) training is preferred.
