The ideal candidate will establish a friendly, efficient, preoperative process for patients having surgery at OrthoIndy Hospital facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patient condition, reporting any unusual symptoms, occurrences, or discrepancies to appropriate Physicians and manager.
- Provide care safely, with adequate quality, quantity, and timeliness, and according to applicable standards.
- Set up, operate, and/or monitor the use of various systems, equipment, and instrumentation required for patient care.
- Communicate effectively with Physicians and peers regarding requests and scheduled appointments.
- Initiate indicated patient care plans, ensuring the plan of care reflects the patient's needs.
- Provide instruction, information, and counseling to patients and their families as needed.
- Obtain complete medical history and retrieve records as indicated.
- Respond to telephone inquiries promptly, screening calls and providing information to patients and staff as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Nurse license in the state of Indiana required.
- BLS certification required.
- 2-4 years of related experience required; 4-6 years preferred.
