Description
We're looking for a Behavioral Health Technician, working in Healthcare Systems and Services industry in Plano, Texas, United States.

Life Skills Autism Academy, a division of Centria Autism, is looking for Registered Behavioral Health Technicians (RBT) to help the development of children who are on the Autism Spectrum by providing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy in a 1:1 setting under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This therapy is used to increase critical developmental skills such as language and communication, social, and school readiness behaviors.

What your day will look like with Centria:

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the client's individualized treatment plan built by BCBA/BC
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with the client's individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols
  • Ensure documentation is completed on time and following established procedures
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by BCBA/BC
  • Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients and appropriately report all critical incidents and safety concerns
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
  • Assist BCBA/BC in the preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition

Experience Required for Your Success
  • A high school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
  • Must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for their RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment
  • Experience working as a Behavioral Technician or working in some capacity with children with autism or other learning disabilities preferred.
  • A passion about helping children with autism and making a real difference in their lives.
  • Patience and compassion with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation and in some cases, proof of driver's license and valid car insurance.
  • Willing to obtain a CPR, First Aid Certification and Tuberculosis test (if you haven't had one in the past year)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
