Job Description

AECOM’s Transportation Business Line is seeking a Project Manager - Highway Engineering, for immediate employment, in either the Hunt Valley, MD or Baltimore, MD office.  The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career specific to intersection and roadway design, drainage and stormwater management design, traffic, utility coordination and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates. This role will support transportation projects for state and county clients, including civil, roadway, drainage, and water resources management design.

  • Manages portfolio of clients with on-call contracts and multiple projects.
    Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
    Supervises and directs project team with multiple projects.
  • Assists with business development and in interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating client proposals and marketing efforts.
  • Supports the development and implementation of marketing strategies for targeted public sector clients and specific projects.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, coordinates, and manages detailed phases of roadway engineering projects.
  • Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Tracks overall financial performance of task assignments.
  • Delegates work to, mentors, trains, and supervises less experienced staff to complete assignments.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Civil Engineering or related field + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Transportation / Highway Project Management experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Five (5) years of highway design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to obtain Maryland PE within twelve months if not currently registered in Maryland
  • DOT experience
  • Proficient with MDSHA Design Standards
  • Ability to proactively communicate and lead department staff
  • Experience with business development and client relations
  • Well-versed in all aspects of project development process
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
