Are you, or talented professionals in your network, looking for unique opportunities to help develop young creatives in an educational setting?  DC Media Arts Academy (DCMAA), established in 2019, is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization of volunteer founding board members engaged in the work of building a safe and creative space for young people to be educated and developed into aspiring artistic media professionals in the areas of visual arts, music engineering, and television and film production in the District of Columbia’s first media arts public charter high school.

The DC Media Arts Academy Founding Board, is currently drafting its’ District of Columbia Public Charter School application for submission in March 2025. We are currently recruiting new board members and partners to help steer the organization toward a sustainable future, meet the needs of our students, and ensure the organization and the school has adequate resources to advance its mission. 

This is a great opportunity for community members to contribute to the immense impact DCMAA intends to have on its community. Recently, we have opened up opportunities for several NEW board members with expertise in the following areas:

·       Financial Management or Accounting

·       Operations Management 

·       Human Resources

·       Data Management

·       Marketing

·       Education Policy

·       Fundraising (individual and corporate donors/partners)

·       Curriculum Content at the Secondary Education Level

·       Special Education

·       Emergent Multilingual Learning
