ICU Inpatient Registered Nurse
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated registered nurse to work in our ICU inpatient unit at UNM Hospitals. As an ICU inpatient RN, you will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients and assume relief charge duties when designated. Our hospital offers a Clinical Advancement Program, giving nurses the opportunity to earn greater compensation based on their education and certifications. You may earn up to $8.00 in addition to base pay. We also offer a sign-on bonus and relocation reimbursement
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
- Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety
- Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
- Work in collaboration with the healthcare team implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and education
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensure proper consent has been obtained
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required
- Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information
- Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care
- Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Program Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Current RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
- Basic Arrhythmia Certification within one year of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within six months of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within six months of hire
