Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Current and valid state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a psychiatric/mental health setting preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments on adult patients, mental health and substance use disorder.
- Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, including monitoring for side effects and efficacy.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including maintaining accurate and timely patient records.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and continuing education activities to stay current with best practices in psychiatric care.
