Hiring a Quality Engineer for a top A&D company in Nassau County Looking for 3+ years of experience

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our aerospace products through thorough analysis, testing, and collaboration with various teams. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and professional development in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) team in performing root cause failure analysis on field returns and present findings in an orderly and timely manner.

  • Participate in weekly Material Review Board (MRB) meetings alongside a team of engineers to make educated and informed decisions regarding non-conforming material (NCM).

  • Prepare and review First Article Inspections (FAIs), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), Quality Procedures, Inspection Plans, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Quality Manuals, and Alerts for various military and commercial aircraft programs.

  • Participate in high-speed and icing wind tunnel testing of early stage development products across multiple programs, including Apache, Boeing P-8A, Cessna, Mitac, and perform thermal analysis of ice accumulation on leading edges (horizontal and vertical stabilizers).

  • Design and construct test fixtures to conduct functionality tests for Boeing's P-8A Navy Program.

  • Conduct conference calls and meetings with customers and FAA regulators to present and review FAI submission for approval and buyer sign off.

  • Review Manufacturing Procedures (MPs) and apply lean manufacturing methods to increase efficiency and overall quality assurance.

  • Ensure dimensional requirements of select products via a FARO Arm and create tools for inspection and prototyping using AutoDesk Inventor and a 3D printer.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Experience with root cause and corrective action investigation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Extensive knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the organization's production processes.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Knowledge of First Article Inspection Reports per AS 9102.

  • Material Review Board experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, aerospace, or other regulated industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Quality certifications such as CQE, CQA, or similar are preferred.

  • Experience as a Quality Engineer in aerospace or other regulated industry is advantageous.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.
