Quality Assurance Engineer

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet both customer and regulatory specifications
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures
- Conduct quality audits and inspections to identify defects and non-conformities
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Participate in design and process reviews to ensure quality requirements are met
- Provide training and support to production teams on quality standards and procedures
- Create test procedures and quality plans to ensure product scope, requirements, and product functions are clearly defined, recommending improvements where needed.
- Ensure products meet organizational, customer, and industry quality standards, including AS9100, AS9102, and other relevant aerospace regulations.
- Support product development and operations teams by providing analysis and expertise during inspection and quality control stages.
- Collaborate on root cause and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of defects or process deviations and ensure timely responses from responsible parties.
- Generate and Analyze quality data to identify trends, with the goal of reducing defects and improving product reliability.
- Coordinate and support First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 requirements to ensure products meet both internal and external quality standards.
- Assist in organizing and participating in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, ensuring timely resolution of non-conforming materials.
- Lead quality planning efforts while collaborating with design engineering on new product development, including quality control strategies and ensure timely and compliant project execution.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline required.
- Experience or training in quality assurance within the aerospace or other regulated industries preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the organization's production processes and quality management systems (QMS).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments, including developers, project managers, and customer support teams.
- Proficient in, or the ability to learn, root cause analysis and corrective action methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with root cause - corrective action investigation.
- Knowledge about First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
- Familiarity with Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
- Quality certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQA (Certified Quality Auditor), or similar.
- Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA or NADCAP regulations.
- Experience with quality inspection tools such as Net-Inspect, InspectionXpert, or similar software preferred
