Job Description

Job Summary

This role is responsible for organizing team member and client events and activities, both in-person and virtual, to include but not limited to signature client events, line of business/division conferences and events, line of business-hosted webinars and corporately-directed business development events.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans and flawlessly executes virtual and in-person event experiences. Develops and maintains a calendar of all event experiences for collaboration and sharing across cross-functional teams and executive leadership. Tracks event experiences, measuring, capturing and reporting on results to include attendance, new or expanded business generated, and anecdotal feedback.
  • Administers and hosts virtual events that include owned and partnered events. Meets with stakeholders to understand Line of business (LOB) goals and event objectives. Creates webinar briefs to align delivery expectations. Learns the Socialive platform to execute client facing events seamlessly. Coordinates webinar development and content with LOB partners and creative team. Serves as an assistant event producer by attending all virtual events to ensure they run smoothly both technically and based on defined run-of-show program. Manages event scheduling to ensure adequate resourcing is available.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to build and deliver scalable in-person client events and programs tailored to align with target and engagement goals of Synovus corporate and LOBs. A strategic partner, who collaborates on the design and implementation of event actitivties by driving attendance, and improving and elevating team member/business partner/client experience. Learns the Swoogo platform to assist in RSVP process and communication. Works directly with vendors, supplies, and third parties to ensure successful implementation of events.
  • Works closely with the Senior Manager of Internal/External Events to develop and implement annual team member events, conferences, and team member award/recognition trip which may include developing theme ideas, coordinating with multiple vendors and suppliers, assisting with logistics, and preparing post-event reports. Manages catering orders and room set up for select internal team member events including SNV Live and SNV Leaderast. Attends these conferences and events as needed.
  • Plays a key role in the annual budget process and will work to plan and execute each event experience within the allocated budget. Responsible for coding invoices, paperwork organization, file storage and documentation of events.
  • Works closely with members of the Corporate Communications and Marketing teams on a daily basis to develop creative materials needed to support events (in-person and virtual, client and team member) and the internal and external communications plans to help drive success. Specific responsibilities include client and team member reminder emails through the swoogo platform.
  • Serves as a corporate liaison to the Business Development Specialists to ensure support is provided to drive key local market initiatives. Seeks ways to scale signature local market events across other markets. Develops toolkits that outline turn-key experiences so that other team members can execute their own experiences in the absence of a corporate events team member to manage it.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Education:

"Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum Experience:

1+ years of relevant experience including internships and volunteer responsibilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Must be self driven and motivated to find new and unique ways to attract attendance to events. This could be through technology, technique, etc. but requires creativity, research and benchmarking skills.
  • Strong technical understanding of data-driven publishing and use of templates, virtual engagement platforms (WebEx and Microsoft Teams) for virtual event management and deployment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, management, leadership and external contacts.
  • Results oriented, accountable, motivated, quick decision maker, and flexible.
  • Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment where priorities change quickly.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office Suite with experience in PowerPoint.
