Primary Responsibilities: Candidate will be working with the Michigan Treasury Tax Compliance Bureau. Position will require candidate to work onsite in Lansing, Michigan Monday-Friday 8-5. Job duties include, but are not limited to: MBT/CIT TDW support services - the design of the Michigan Business Tax (“MBT”) and Corporate Income Tax (“CIT”) systems in SAP will continue to call for updates and changes as new tax years are added. These changes will not only affect the data in SAP, but will also impact how the data is stored within the TDW and how the data is accessed and used by ESKORT SUW - TDW support services - the design of the Sales, Use, and Withholding (“SUW”) tax system in SAP will call for updates and changes as new tax years are added. These changes will not only affect the data in SAP, but will also impact how the data is stored within the TDW and how the data is accessed and used by ESKORT FTW - TDW support services - the design of the Flow-Through Withholding (“FTW”) tax system in SAP will call for updates and changes as new tax years are added. These changes will not only affect the data in SAP, but will also impact how the data is stored within the TDW and how the data is accessed and used by ESKORT ESKORT Data Modifications and Fixes – Support with respect to the investigation into ESKORT data related issues as well as design and implementation of modifications and/or fixes to the TDW to support accurate and complete data flowing to the ESKORT software ESKORT Application and Database Support – Support of ESKORT application and database related requests related to product upgrades and extensions as well as expert consultation on production configuration BI Query Administrative services - Working with the State’s DBAs and BI Query users and administrators to refine the BI Query models and to keep them in sync with other developments, such as the migration of Treasury data to SAP BI Query Training - With the release of new versions of BI Query software, there will be a need throughout Treasury to provide training in the new features of the tool. This training will include the new features and capabilities of the tool and its application to Treasury ESKORT related data TDW Optimization and Cleanup services - Support the TDW optimization and cleanup activities. There continues to be a need for additional and ongoing cleanup and optimization of obsolete data, inactive users, loading and extract routines, including ETL, and other tasks related to the TDW ESKORT data Registrations – Required modifications of the ESKORT Configuration to process Registrations Data Governance – Support the Treasury Data Governance project City Income Tax - TDW support services - the design of the City Income Tax system in SAP will call for updates and changes as new tax years are added. These changes will not only affect the data in SAP, but will also impact how the data is stored within the TDW State Essential Service Assessment (SESA) - TDW support services - the design of the SESA system in SAP will call for creating the tables within TDW updates and changes as new tax years are added. These changes will not only affect the data in SAP, but will also impact how the data is stored within the TDW Special projects – as determined by the TCB Director You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree (or higher) 3+ years of experience with Teradata V16/17 (tools and utilities) 3+ years of experience with Teradata Utilities (TPT, Mload, Fastload, BTEQ, etc.) 3+ years of experience in ETL using Teradata Utilities in a Unix/Linux environment 3+ years of experience with Teradata SQL Assistant 3+ years of experience with performance tuning within a Teradata environment (SQL,Joins, Indexes, Viewpoint, Explains) 3+ years of experience SQL Skills that include working with joins, indexes, partitions at table level and performance tuning skillsets 3+ years of experience with TASM 3+ years of DBA experience with knowledge on backup / restore functionality /incremental backups 3+ years of experience working with end users/customers to understand system and business issues and perform technical analysis to develop solutions 3+ years of experience with BI Query (or other BI) reporting tool along with basic modelling operations and maintenance issues 3+ years of experience working with end users/customers to understand and develop requirements 3+ years of experience maintaining Dashboards and other basic reports related to data warehouse on a daily basis 3+ years of experience maintaining user profiles and security skills that are related to the databases 1+ years of experience with Teradata Studio Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IRS or State Tax applications or experience as a tax accountant Certified Teradata Master Needs to be able to work independently and not rely on State or other team members Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations Working with the Data Modelers and developers, facilitate modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting needs of the customer Experience with Data Cleansing Experience with Data Governance Experience with ticket management systems such as TFS Experience with SAP Tax module *All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.
