Description:

As a key member of the Hudson Data team, the IT Business Analyst will perform a wide range of assignments supporting the business and technical needs within the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection area.

The position will be responsible for business needs analysis, requirements elicitation, solution evaluation, solution impact analysis, as-is and future state process mapping, gap analysis, work definition and estimation, and project lifecycle support.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of IT and Security, and will be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

The Business Analyst will work closely with partners to provide analysis considering the needs of the Work Area, as well as to provide guidance related to competing priorities and cross-agency impacts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs.
  • Create informative, actionable, and repeatable technical and business reporting that highlights relevant trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Make recommendations and design modification.
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
  • Develop and manage documentation.
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements, establishing project budget.
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.

The successful candidate will have experience with MS SharePoint and SharePoint Administration, Visio, Azure DevOps, and PowerBI, and will be able to conduct and coordinate financial, product, market, operational, and related research to support strategic and business planning within the various departments and programs within DTMB-CIP.
