ABOUT THE POSITION
The Vice President (VP) of Operations and Distribution is responsible for the strategic oversight and leadership of all manufacturing and distribution activities within the organization. This role will manage end-to-end distribution/logistics processes, optimize distribution channels, and ensure operational efficiency, with the ultimate goal of delivering products to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner. The VP of Operations and Distribution will work closely with other executives to align business objectives, enhance productivity, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functional/Technical:
- Operational Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational processes, drive efficiency, and reduce costs across manufacturing supply chain, logistics, and distribution functions.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to optimize the supply chain, streamline order fulfillment, and minimize disruptions. -Deep knowledge in end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, production, logistics, and distribution with specific emphasis in manufacturing.
- Manufacturing Operations:
-Experience with production planning, capacity management, workforce planning and quality control.
- Ability to identify improvement in the manufacturing areas to reduce wasteful processes
- Familiarity with Kaizen events in manufacturing and proven results in applying these concepts to the manufacturing operations.
- Distribution & Logistics Management:
-Understanding of warehousing, transportation management, and distribution network optimization.
-Proficiency in route planning, fleet management, and third-party logistics (3PL) coordination.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements across operations and distribution functions, leveraging technology and automation where applicable.
- Technology and Automation:
-Experience with ERP systems for managing manufacturing and distribution workflows.
-Knowledge of automation technologies such as CNC robotics, manufacturing lean concepts, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Manage operational budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high levels of service.
-Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, costs, and output.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all operations adhere to relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
-Experience with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices and compliance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma or APICS Certified preferred
- 15+ years of experience in operations, distribution, or supply chain management, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams across multiple locations.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, operational excellence, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, develop insights, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
- Expertise in supply chain management software and systems, ERP systems, and familiarity with emerging technologies in operations and logistics.
