Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

The Training Administrator 2 is responsible for providing required on-the-job training to field staff and supervisors.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide field training to direct care, nursing and supervisory staff.
  • Ensure staff complete on-the-job training and submit all required documents by applicable deadlines.
  • Provide CPR and First Aid training classes.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires, as needed.
  • Train supervisors in techniques and skills for training employees.
  • Confer with management and field staff to identify training needs; communicate those needs to Director of Training.
  • Maintain recordkeeping systems for staff training and development.
  • Maintain working knowledge of 245(d), ICF and MDH training requirements.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Director of Training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of developmental/physical disabilities required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands required of the job position.
  • Knowledge of software and equipment used (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of state and federal licensing regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively train a diverse group of people.
  • Flexible and positive demeanor.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively present training materials to small and large groups.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently.
  • Ability to recognize problems and resolve.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Homeward Bounds policies and practices.
RISK RESPOSIBILITY/BUDGET MANAGEMENT:
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Have strong interpersonal communication skills while representing Homeward Bound both internally and externally.
  • Comply with organizational and regulatory policies, procedures and standards.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:
  • Two years of direct care experience in the disabilities/health care field required.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification.
  • Experience providing training to direct care staff preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to pass the criminal background screening and maintain clearance.
