Our Team
The Infrastructure and Hosting team is part of Informatica's IT Operations organization and is responsible for the engineering and maintenance of global storage, backup, network, and server infrastructure, as well as physical and virtual datacenters. Our team not only focuses on maintaining highly reliable, high-performance systems but also takes pride in deploying leading-edge datacenter technologies. We are a forward-looking group of talented team members who work closely together to develop solutions that maximize efficiency, empower our internal customers, and provide a competitive advantage for the company.

Your Opportunity
Informatica is seeking a bright, organized, and dedicated Senior Systems / DevOps Engineer with expert knowledge and hands-on experience in Linux administration, based in our Austin, TX location. The IT Infrastructure and Hosting teams maintain many systems that enable access to critical business resources and enforce policies for their secure operation. Reporting to an IT Manager, you will support and administer our global enterprise portfolio of virtualized and rack-mounted systems running current Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Rocky Linux releases. Your responsibilities will span the entire system lifecycle - architecture, planning, provisioning, support, troubleshooting, capacity planning, patching, and decommissioning.

This position is essential for supporting, developing, and maintaining our Satellite patching infrastructure backend, IDM infrastructure, and our AWX environment on Kubernetes. Additionally, you will drive DevOps initiatives, enhance the team's Kubernetes expertise, and help harden and certify our RHEL infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage Red Hat-based environments, with a strong focus on automation and optimization using Ansible and AWX.
  • Develop and maintain Identity Management (IDM) and Satellite patch management solutions.
  • Drive infrastructure automation initiatives across projects and escalations.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, adhering to compliance and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 27001, CIS).
  • Ensure adherence to ITIL procedures within ServiceNow and agile workflows via Jira.
  • Support hybrid virtualization and containerized environments, integrating with Kubernetes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience in Red Hat (RHEL) environments and Linux system engineering.
  • Expert-level skills in Ansible AWX and automation of configuration management and deployment.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python) and familiarity with YAML to develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks.
  • Skilled in managing Kubernetes clusters, with added experience in the AWX stack.
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat IDM, Satellite / Capsules, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience in ITIL-based service management and agile methodologies using Jira.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, including the capacity to mentor junior engineers, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and serve as a technical thought leader.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in Red Hat, Kubernetes, and Ansible / AWX.
  • Prior experience in a lead role, guiding junior engineers and managing complex projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
