Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our team at The University of Texas at Austin. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the advancement of Linux system administration. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-user support for our Linux systems. Additionally, you will oversee all backup services and storage solutions, ensure compliance with established information assurance policies, and maintain accurate records of computer hardware and software inventories.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform system installations, configurations, administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-user support for software, servers, workstations, laptops, and virtual machines
• Manage all backup services and storage solutions
• Ensure compliance with established information assurance policies
• Maintain accurate records of computer hardware and software inventories
• Document and maintain processes, procedures, and configurations for Linux, storage, and backup solution configuration and change management
• Perform system audits for compliance with established information assurance policies and configuration guidelines
• Develop and implement best practices for system administration
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve issues and improve system performance

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a solid background in Linux system administration, with a minimum of four years of experience managing enterprise storage and backup solutions. You should also possess excellent organizational, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, as well as current DoD 8570.1/8140 IAT II or greater certification for CySA+, Security+, GICSP, GSEC, or similar approved IA certifications.
