Finance Senior Accountant

Summary:
Responsible for supervising the Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Payroll teams of the Casino. Assists the Accounting Manager. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations of the gaming commission, federal and state laws governing monetary transactions and company policies, procedures and controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Gaming experience is a plus.
- Three (3) years accounting experience in the following areas: General Ledger, Payroll and Accounts Payable.
- Two (2) years supervisory experience preferred or demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with a team as a leader.
- Experience with the following software a plus: Kronos and Microsoft Navision
- Proficiency required with Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication skills required. Must be extremely numbers oriented and computer literate.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret basic instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to perform and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations, identify problems and formulate solutions.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment.
- Class III Gaming license
- Directly supervises (and serves as backup) payroll, general ledger, and accounts payable. Includes mentoring; staff development; defining essential job functions, responsibilities and skills; managing productivity, and scheduling.
- Responsible for accuracy and timeliness and reporting of financial data including month end closing, all monthly account reconciliations (reviewing and reconciling) A/P ledger, G/L postings and fixed assets, etc.
- Maintain schedule of NSF checks and transfer data to collection agency.
- Responsible for miscellaneous bank deposits.
- Assist Accounting Manager with other duties/special projects.
- Maintain good communication with all departments.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
- Other finance and accounting related responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations (including Federal, State and Tribal Gaming) as well as company policies, procedures, and controls.
- Talking or hearing; standing; walking; sitting; using hands to finger; handling or feeling objects, tools or controls.
- Constant twisting, turning, bending, manual dexterity of 10-key adding machine and computer keyboard.
- Constantly requires specific vision abilities of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally reaching with hands and arms and sitting; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
- Exposed to risk of radiation (from computers).
- Works in moderate noise level environment.
- Some exposure to tobacco smoke and odors.
Requirements
