Our partner firm is looking for a Tax Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing people, processes, and technology within the tax practice. This includes developing and maintaining the end-to-end tax compliance workflow, from engagement acceptance to filing, personnel management, staffing, and outsourcing strategies. The role involves monitoring technology solutions, analyzing data to measure performance, and collaborating on industry and vendor relationships. The coordinator works closely with team members at all levels, overseeing resource allocation for all tax projects across the firm. This role requires hybrid work in Garden City.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Be a member of the Tax Technology Champions Team to improve tax compliance workflows through process improvement, technology, risk management, and organizational design.
- Oversee resource allocation among practice offices and tax sectors for balanced and efficient workflow.
- Manage the resource dashboard to monitor practice resources and updates.
- Use CCH Workflow to set goals and deadlines for deliverables and develop best practices for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate talent acquisition, maintain staff workloads, and collaborate with recruiting on hiring plans.
- Analyze and distribute scheduling reports weekly, ensuring appropriate resource assignment to tax client engagements.
- Help employees gain relevant experiences for career progression, balancing staff workloads while meeting client needs.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and update schedules as needed.
- Address employee issues proactively, including utilization, morale, and performance.
- Coordinate and follow up on multiple tasks efficiently.
- Assist in onboarding new employees for a smooth transition into the firm.
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Advanced knowledge of Tax Applications (CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Workflow, SurePrep, SafeSend Returns).
- 5+ years' experience in project management, resource management, and/or operations management.
- Previous experience in a professional services environment.
- Experience navigating executive-level professionals with diverse personality styles.
- Experience managing team members.
