Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist maintains the Inventory Control System and facilitates the addition of new items to the system. This role acts as a liaison between the Operating Room and Materials Service, ensuring seamless communication and efficient inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Inventory Control System.

  • Facilitate the addition of new items to the system.

  • Act as a liaison between the Operating Room and Materials Service.

  • Keep the Materials Manager informed of routine problems, complaints, and questions.

  • Pick goods from indicated locations and deliver them to designated areas.

  • Place goods accurately in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying part and stored location.

  • Receive deliveries as they arrive at the facility loading dock.

  • Break down packages and stage goods in designated areas for put-away and internal distribution.

  • Dispose of packing materials, boxes, etc., in designated areas.

Essential Skills

  • 3 – 5 years of experience with inventory and supply chain in a hospital or related medical services setting.

  • Basic knowledge and working experience with Medical Terminology.

  • Experience with Excel, preferably ERGs.

  • Skills in inventory control, shipping and receiving, material handling, warehouse inventory, supply chain, and production.

  • Familiarity with operating room management systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to handle routine problems, complaints, and questions.

  • Attention to detail in placing goods accurately in storage locations.

  • Effective communication skills to liaise between departments.

Work Environment

This position operates in a healthcare facility that provides a variety of health services. The shift is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with alternating weekends. Candidates should be comfortable and passionate about working in a healthcare environment, as opposed to a standard warehouse setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hyattsville, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $21.00
