Description

Westminster Canterbury Richmond is looking for an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support to our community of 700 employees and 800 residents. The IT Support Specialist responds to and diagnoses a wide range of customer issues submitted to the Help Desk and is responsible for the installation and technical support of computers and peripherals.

This full-time position works onsite at our beautiful community nestled in the historic Bellevue neighborhood.

Requirements

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • Provide help desk support to residents and staff
  • Configure and install computers and peripherals
  • Setup new users on the network
  • Maintain inventory of computer equipment
  • Assist in the monitoring of the backup and antivirus system
  • Perform basic network trouble shooting
  • Assist in staff software training as needed
  • Provide backup support to the Telecommunication Specialist
  • Additional duties as assigned
EQUIPMENT:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Considerable walking, stooping, kneeling, sitting, standing, reaching and lifting
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
  • Working knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating System
  • Ability to install and operate a variety of business applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Basic understanding of networking
  • Valid Driver's License in the State of Virginia with a minimum age 21 to drive for the organization
  • Motor Vehicle Driving Record satisfactory to the Agency and its insurance providers
  • Proof of motor vehicle insurance
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
  • Basic programming skills
  • Web development
  • Telecommunications experience
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree in information systems or two years' work experience or equivalent knowledge of troubleshooting desktops in a network environment
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Microsoft Windows and/or Cisco Certification
  • One year Help Desk experience
  • Telecommunications experience
REQUIRED BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:
