Position Description

Main Purpose:

Provide overall management direction for all Branch functions. Responsible for the P&L of a business unit with less than with the objective to grow the Branch and / or develop professionally into a Branch Manager.

  • Shop Manager/Dispatch, Mechanics, Technicians, Laborers, Administrative Staff

Specific Role Responsibilities:

Carry out Branch objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy Plan, staff, and supervise all Branch activities including personnel administration, performance review, defining functions, responsibilities, etc. Maintain positive financial posture for the Branch and monitor cost analysis activities on routine basis Perform and direct research and client contract to identify potential projects (customers), and gain admittance to bidder's list Maintain an effective business development program, securing new work on a routine basis Assume sales responsibilities as required to support the goals and objectives of the Branch Monitor overall quantity and quality of work performed by the Branch Drive organization's programs, policies, standards, and procedures consistent with corporate directive Assume additional responsibilities as required by the Branch's operating needs or as directed by corporate directive

Requirements

Position has overall P/L responsibility and requires proficient business development, marketing, and sales skills4 year technical or business administration degree and/or equivalent extensive experience in the construction (services) industryUnion Labor Relations (as required) - basic principles of labor / management partnershipsSales & Marketing - includes marketing strategy and sales tactics, demonstration, sales techniques, including use of Management of resources, analysis of budgets and related construction accounting; understanding of business financials (P&L) is requiredHuman Resources - recruiting, interviewing, hiring, discipline/coaching/mentoringConstruction Math - basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry; blue print/plan reading a plusComputer/Office Machines - Microsoft Work, Excel, OutlookEnglish - proficient in business writing and verbal communicationValid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required when duties require use of motor vehicleAbility to pass pre-employment and random screening for illegal substances Position Instructions

It all began with Leroy Penhall's realization of an opportunity during Anaheim, California's "Orange Grove Development Boom" of the 1950s. He purchased his first gas-powered diamond saw, which allowed him to carry out concrete work with accuracy and speed. Penhall has since grown to offer a comprehensive selection of concrete services, including scanning, cutting, sawing, breaking, and removal.
