We are seeking an experienced Patient Registration Supervisor to join our busy, fast paced specialty office at Twin Cities Spine Center (TC Spine). Come be a part in our patient’s lives and work for an organization that has consistently been named one of the area’s Top Workplaces.
The Patient Registration Supervisor is a working role that provides face to face services to patients and visitors and supervises front desk staff at multiple locations. Some duties include registering and checking out patients, ensuring patient information and health insurance is accurate and up to date, and scheduling future clinic appointments. This role is also responsible for supervision of the daily operations and staffing of the Front Desk department and providing clear communications, training, and performance expectations. In addition, they assist the Office Administrator with the hiring, employee touchpoint discussions, and addressing performance issues. This position will also work with TC Spine’s Management team and Allina business office on the development of effective policies and procedures that assure regulatory compliance and make recommendations on programs and processes that will improve billing accuracy, identify efficiencies, and increase co-pay processing and prepayment of scheduled surgeries. This role also serves as a liaison, with Allina business office, to respond to patients concerns/complaints.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet patients checking in and leaving clinic and promptly registers patients for clinic and radiology appointments
- Verify patients have completed all required paperwork and gather insurance information
- Verify/check patient insurance eligibility by utilizing Healthia and/or Phreesia and accurately enters the information into NextGen
- Provide supervision and training of the daily operations of the Front Desk at all office locations, including remote and satellite locations
- Maintain the schedule/staffing levels appropriately; approve and complete timecard updates and Staff Out of Office (PTO) requests
- Lead, develop, and implement best practices for the front desk department; evaluate current processes and provide recommendations for improvements and oversee implementation
- Actively work and complete all front desk duties as staffing requires
- Create positive impressions and experiences for patients and staff by being calm, professional, and communicating with knowledge and compassion
- Support the staff ensuring highest level of patient satisfaction
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- 5 years of supervisory experience and revenue cycle management experience
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred
- College degree, preferably in finance and/or accounting or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with NextGen preferred
- Basic bookkeeping knowledge, with experience in generating and analyzing financial reports
- Advance knowledge of Excel and provide analysis for any business office functions
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and providers using excellent interpersonal and communication skills
