Scrum Master

This role requires an experienced Agile Scrum Master to Support a DevSecOps. The Scrum Master will be responsible for one or more agile development teams as part of a larger Agile Release Train (ART) delivering value to the customer using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) as the agile framework. The Scrum Master helps educate the team in scrum to ensure that the agreed agile process are being followed. They also help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement. The Scrum Master ensures the team commitments at the Program Increment Planning Event (PIPE) are met. Finally, this role facilitates horizontal communication across team member to identify any impediments that may prevent team progress while working mitigation plans as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
a) Primary responsibility to keep the team organized, on track, and focused on what matters
b) Serves as a bridge between product management and development
c) Clear obstacles and protect the team from distractions
d) Lead through influence and credibility
e) Responsible for facilitating and guiding the team on use of Agile/SAFe practices and getting the work done
f) Assessing team maturity and coaching the team to higher levels and removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments
g) Responsible for ensuring the team is making progress against its Program Increment commitments.
h) Supporting and education the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining product back logs.
i) Protects the team from scope creep during execution of the PI.
j) Helps removes impediments for the team and raises larger issues to the Release Train Engineer.
k) Help other team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate; support team in meeting their delivery goals.
l) Supports and enforces Scrum process and other rules.
m) Helps the team coordinate with other teams on the Agile Release Train (ART) and communicates status to management as needed.
n) Works with the Product Owner to review and prioritize features.
o) Leads and facilitates SAFe ceremonies to include sprint planning, sprint review, demos, sprint retro, PI planning, etc.
p) Work with Product Owner to develop User Stories to meet the Feature acceptance criteria.
Basic Qualifications
a) Has SAFe 5.1 SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) Certification
b) Significant experience working as a Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer or Product Owner
c) Significant experience providing technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
d) Significant experience leading teams through the delivery of capabilities (software development or infrastructure modernization) using agile methodologies
e) Significant experience establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives.
f) Experience supervising others
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Candidate must have a MA/MS degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience. This may be substituted with a BS/BA degree and a minimum of 12 years of total experience.
