Cogent People is seeking a Scrum Master to support a large-scale IT application development program for a mission-critical data-centric project. As a Scrum Master, you will collaborate with multiple project stakeholders across business and technical teams and coordinate activities, following SAFe agile methodology.

Location: Hybrid (candidate must be able to work from the Columbia, MD office at least 2 days a week)

Specific Residency Requirement: The candidate must have resided in the US for 3 of the past 5 years and must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the US (Citizen, Permanent Resident, EAD).

Responsibilities:
  • Helping software development teams apply the Scrum framework.
  • Facilitate Scrum rituals and document outcomes.
  • Planning deliverables and helping teams monitor performance.
  • Resolving issues that hinder the teams’ work.
  • Apply SAFe agile methodology and participate in Program Increment planning activities.
Requirements:
  • BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Scrum Master certified.
  • 5+ years working as a Scrum Master successfully delivering Software Products.
  • Experience scaling Agile practices in large complex organizations.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles, Scrum framework and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working with Product Owners, leading stand-up meetings, Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, and Agile coaching.
  • Experience with SDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  • Excellent Problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication.
