Uses this information to have correct film, co-dates, stickers, hot stamps, etc. ready for next order Maintains specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, and inspecting product for pleats, leakers, holes, registration, and code-dates to keep within specified bag waste limits Ensures product specifications by completing weight checks on packing lines Limits downtime to specified standards Completing machine changeovers in specified time to ensure production standards Resolving production problems by altering process to meet specifications; and communicating with packing room supervisor, lead packers, and master machine operator to resolve issues or obtain maintenance troubleshooting Ensures good manufacturing procedures by following housekeeping standards Performs cleaning duties to include floor sweeping, refilling supplies, and cleaning slip-stik and entire work area. Completes sanitation duties on rotating schedule Ensures efficient and quality production and positive employee relations by complying with all employment policies, rules, regulations, safety procedures, good manufacturing procedures, product protection standards, and actively participating in all training requirements Completes production sticker correctly and places on correct skid Become proficient in SAP entries Work closely with scheduling, inventory control and operations management to successfully manage orders to completion Material Handler: Receives production orders and plans day to make sure that materials are delivered promptly from warehouse to line to ensure that production standards are met. Removes and replace unused material. May move product or supplies to and from other warehouses Ensures customer orders are filled correctly by accurately reading production shop order sheet, noting special instructions and color pen designation. Fill out paperwork as per procedures Prepares stock for shipment by securing product with stretch wrap slip-sheet or pallet product Transports product from production floor to trucks or warehouse using forklift or slip sheet lift Loads trucks by hand or with forklift according to truck loading procedures Properly fills out load tallies according to procedures Removes trash product from oven and production floor and move to waste dumpster Maintains material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspection, making operator repairs such as changing batteries Ensures good manufacturing procedures by following housekeeping standards and assisting in sanitation duties as needed Ensures efficient and quality production and positive employee relations by complying with all employment policies, rules, regulations, safety procedures, good manufacturing procedures, product protection standards and actively participating in all training requirements Lead Packer: Read, write, and understand English. Read and understand production order Ensure that all requirements of the production order are being fulfilled Ensures that quality standards are met by performing inspections and maintaining set standards of finished product packaging Performs visual analysis utilizing pre-determined quality standards set for packages, cartons, and finished units, i.e., Registration, clarity and correctness of code date, seal integrity, sticker placement, carton label placement and correctness, tape placement/adhesion, carton placement on skid/slip sheet, appearance of filled unit. Identifies all units not meeting standards and notifies the Team Lead of and quality issues Performs a quality check on one-(1) case of each pallet of assigned orders Ensures all assigned order documentation is recorded correctly Make case labels as needed Enter correct order information into SAP Place SAP pallet stickers on all assigned orders Ensure that assigned packing stations are set up properly Ensure the correct carton is at the machine for an upcoming order Ensure the station is properly staffed All needed equipment and supplies are at the packing station Help packers with labeling as needed Ensure good housekeeping is being performed Responsible for communication at shift change Ensures efficient and quality production and positive employee relations by complying with all employment policies, rules, regulations, safety procedures, good manufacturing procedures, product protection standards and actively participating in all training requirements Additional Tasks: Contributes to team effort by performing other assigned duties as needed. Maintains cooperative relationship with coworkers and management by communicating necessary information, responding to requests, building rapport; and participating in problem solving methods.
