Position Summary: Warehouse operators are responsible for supporting order fulfillment for various facilities. They prepare materials prior to shipment and operate a forklift to receive and unload supplies and materials.

Shift - 7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.

Primary Responsibilities:

75%-Warehouse
  • Receiving, storing, and transferring materials and supplies
  • Completing work tasks in the sequence/priority determined by warehouse supervisor and/or plant management.
  • Perform the strapping, stretch wrapping, marking, addressing and preparation of products for shipment.
  • Prepping and staging outbound customer orders.
  • Operate a lift truck to receive, unload, store and load supplies and materials.
  • Assist in inventory controls and auditing.
  • D365 and computer related tasks specific to the warehouse operations
10%-Maintenance & Safety
  • Perform periodic maintenance checks on the lift trucks to ensure their efficient and safe operation.
  • Assist with overall mechanical maintenance of facility.
  • Make sure all security measures designated to control access to storage areas in accordance with the food safety policies are in place and functioning.
  • Monitoring warehouse systems and alerting the warehouse supervisor of any deviations from normal operations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and/or recommendations in and around the facility
10%-5S and General Housekeeping
  • Complete 5S tasks as assigned on time to the standards described for each task.
  • Ensure warehouse areas are clean and free of errant debris.
  • Maintain storage standards and conditions for finished goods.
  • Make sure hazardous materials are stored in approved designated location.
  • Keep warehouses free from pests, rodents and allergens including outside food and drinks.
5% other duties as assigned

Conditions of Employment:

1. Must comply with all John I. Haas, Inc. policies and procedures, including successful passing of pre-employment drug test.

2. Must comply with our Integrated Management System (IMS) and be trained on procedures applicable to the requirements of the position, including managing significant quality, environmental, and food safety aspects.

3. Work a scheduled 40-hour week. Hours worked in excess of 8 per day as required to finish a batch operation are paid as overtime per the current Union Agreement.

4. Must be willing to work in a production facility.

5. Must be mobile, including ability to climb stairs and lift 55 lbs with or without assistance.

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills required of the Position)

Required:
  1. Basic knowledge of machinery and equipment.
  2. Knowledge of Microsoft office and ERP systems.
  3. Knowledge of safety and food safety regulations.
  4. Must be able to adequately perform all job duties at current grade level before being eligible for advancement to the next grade level. Eligibility for advancement is also dependent on department needs and ability to train (and certify when appropriate) on upper grade responsibilities
