POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical-Surgical Nurse Technician Unit Secretary is responsible for providing daily hygiene, assisting with ADL's, and collecting patient data in a timely and accurate manner. This role also involves communicating with patients, families, and the healthcare team, transcribing medical plans of care, and maintaining a healing and therapeutic environment. The position requires formal education or training in nursing assistance, a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  • Assisting with data collection and organizing assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and assisting with treatments, procedures, and equipment.
  • Transcribing medical plans of care and providing clerical support.
  • Documenting accurately and maintaining communication in a professional manner.
  • Facilitating staff development and handling medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital policies.
