Job Responsibilities

Advises and consults with District management regarding human resources matters for all District personnel while ensuring all actions are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Assists with the development and implementation of District procedures and practices.
Consults with Classification & Compensation on compensation issues regarding employment offers and internal salary actions. Ensures all new hires are properly on-boarded and the professional exit of District employees who are separating from the Agency.
Provides guidance and counsel to employees and managers on employee relations issues, in collaboration with District management and the Employee Relations Office.
Manages the District's recruitment and selection process by ensuring position descriptions of vacant positions are current and approved by Classification & Compensation prior to posting in NeoGov. Evaluates candidate applications to create the qualified applicants' list for use by hiring managers to select candidates for interviews. Assists hiring managers with the candidate selection process and participates on interview panels as necessary. Identifies and coordinates participation in district recruiting events.
Assists with the coordination of the District's administration of benefits programs for health insurance, retirement plans and leave. Assists with coordination of District-wide professional development offerings as directed by the Training & Development Office. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and two and one-half (2.5) years of relevant human resources experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
