Job Description: Midwest Regional Admissions Counselor - [Midwest Counselor, to reside in Chicago or Milwaukee]

Position Overview:
**** The Regional Admissions Counselor is a full-time recruiter who lives in a designated area outside of New York City. The recruiter will travel extensively to represent SVA at high schools, community colleges, fairs, and National Portfolio Days, primarily in and around the regional territory and sometimes beyond. The representative introduces the College to prospective students, explains admissions criteria, and merit-based scholarships, and discusses student life. The successful candidate will maintain close communication with the home office in NYC, ensuring alignment with the SVA's Admissions strategies and goals.

Working Modality: This is a full-time, remote position with extensive travel requirements throughout 8 to 9 months of the year.

**Duties & Responsibilities: **

● Recruit students for SVA's BFA programs within a designated region of the U.S.

● Contribute to the generation of leads, applications, and enrollments of new students from designated areas who will benefit from SVA's Undergraduate programs.

● Establish relationships with educators and administrators at local high schools, colleges, and educational organizations.

● Travels throughout the US and Canada as assigned throughout the academic year.

● Devise a comprehensive schedule of recruitment activities and events under the direction of the Associate Director of Admissions, including detailed travel itinerary and budget information.

● Conduct presentations at high schools, portfolio centers, and recruitment events.

● Serve as initial and sustained contact for prospects and applicants in the region assigned.

● Provide in-depth, individualized art portfolio reviews.

● Deliver updates and reports on recruitment efforts and visits regularly through Google Suite, Salesforce, and other platforms.

● Identify opportunities and avenues for recruitment initiatives in the region and adjoining regions. Coordinate the planning and implementation of all such initiatives.

● Work closely with the NYC-based Admissions team to organize annual recruitment events at high schools, educational organizations, and fairs.

● Maintain daily communication with the Associate Director of Admissions and/or Admissions team as needs dictate.

● Collaborates with NYC-based Admissions Counselors routinely and as needed.

● Travel to the NYC office multiple times yearly for annual staff training seminars, Accepted Students Day, and other key events.

● Assists with planning and implementation of regional recruitment and yield events; assists prospective students and School Counselors from designated territories visiting campus for special workshops.

● Manage travel expenses; submit monthly travel & expense reports.

● Work with the Office of Alumni Affairs to support and maintain alumni connections in the region.

● Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Undergraduate degree required, BFA preferred.

● Directly related work experience in the visual arts and/or arts education preferred.

● Strong administrative skills are required with close attention to detail.

● Interest and commitment to the goals of higher education.

● Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

● Good presentation skills and high comfort with public speaking.

● Ability to work well with diverse constituencies and practice inclusivity in all settings.

● Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

● Computer literacy. Familiarity with Apple platforms and ability to work with Keynote, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Office Suite.

● Valid US Driver's License

● Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively and to work evening and weekend hours.
