PRIMARY ROLE: The Counselor plays a vital role in the recovery journey of clients by delivering essential counseling services aimed at fostering rehabilitation and providing targeted support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts counseling sessions in accordance with all relevant regulations, including Federal, State, Local, and Accreditation standards. The Counselor must also be well-versed in and adhere to all organizational and program-specific policies and procedures.
- Maintains comprehensive documentation in client case records, including but not limited to intake assessments, treatment plans, psycho-social evaluations, progress notes, and records of interactions with other agencies involved in the client's care.
- Understands and adheres to the policies and procedures associated with the Workfirst model of Methadone treatment, while actively collaborating with the Department of Vocational Services.
- Works in conjunction with Vocational staff to seamlessly integrate vocational rehabilitation into the overall treatment strategy.
- Provides ongoing support to clients regarding the maintenance of public assistance or other benefits, ensuring familiarity with Human Resources Administration regulations that impact client obligations, particularly concerning work requirements. Actively collaborates with Entitlement Assessors.
- Facilitates connections for clients with necessary medical and psychiatric providers, offering support to ensure follow-through as needed.
- Conducts intake interviews, pre-screenings, and other admission-related processes as required.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and conferences.
- Leads individual and group counseling sessions.
- Participates in the Saturday Clinic rotation schedule.
- Provides coverage for counselors during their absence.
- Performs additional duties as assigned periodically.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM; Wednesday/Friday 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM; alternating Saturdays 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
SALARY: $47,320 - $55,000 annually, based on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with 2 years of relevant experience or Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). Proficient understanding of substance use and/or Methadone treatment along with foundational counseling skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a complex team environment. Must demonstrate multi-cultural sensitivity to the diverse needs of clients in treatment. Proficient in computer usage.
