Mechanical Design Engineer II/III

SUSS MicroTec is seeking to expand our capacity by adding an additional Mechanical Design Engineer II/III to our Product Development team located in Williston, Vermont. The Williston office is a R&D-focused environment supporting our international manufacturing sites with new product developments.
Responsibilities
- Generate design concepts, diagrams, layouts, detail, and assembly drawings
- Calculate appropriate dimensions and tolerances
- Review and modify designs for efficient manufacturability
- CAD & Bill of Materials creation and maintenance with SolidWorks & SAP
- Qualify designs through FEA/CFD analysis and empirical testing
- Support prototype builds and functional tests
- Work within the requirements of internal product development processes including participation in design/project reviews
- Work and coordinate with SUSS colleagues around the world
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant technical degree)
- Three (plus) years of design engineering of precision machinery
- Fundamental knowledge of electro-mechanical systems (pneumatics a plus)
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes
- Thorough knowledge of geometric tolerancing (GD&T) and ANSI Y.14 standards (ISO a plus)
- Proficient in the use of 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience with analysis tools a plus, preferably SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) and SolidWorks Flow Simulation (CFD)
- Experience with ERP and PLM systems for document, material, BOM and revisions - preferably SAP
Knowledge of SemiSpec standards a plus - Domestic and international travel up to 10%
