Primary assignment will be assisting a banking client with responding to state-issued subpoenas.
McGuireWoods LLP has an opening for a Case Assistant in our Charlotte, NC office. The Case Assistant provides support to paralegals and attorneys in the Financial Services & Securities Enforcement litigation group. Qualities possessed by an ideal candidate include up to two years of general/clerical legal experience in the litigation department of a law firm, an eye for detail and accuracy, and strong technical and organizational skills. Primary assignment will be assisting a banking client with responding to state-issued subpoenas.
Responsibilities- Following client procedures, reviews and processes individual matters utilizing multiple software systems.
- Organizes, labels and files electronic and hard copies of case materials as directed.
- Researches and retrieves documents from case management systems (CaseMap, FileSite, eRoom, Pacer, and Relativity) as requested.
- Coordinates with case team on project status and matter completion rate.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or some experience in a law firm preferred.
- Excellent technical skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) are required.
- Familiarity with case management systems and/or E-Discovery platforms (CaseMap, FileSite, eRoom, Pacer, and Relativity) is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
