Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School education and experience in maintenance and repair work.

  • Ability to work independently, and to organize, plan, and manage time effectively to efficiently complete essential duties.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the

  • Must pass the medical examination consistent with the job description.
  • Successful drug screen, criminal history check, and physical.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in maintenance and repairs within facility, villas, and grounds, as directed by supervisor and in accordance with federal, state and local laws/regulations.
  • Maintain all equipment used on the job in good repair.
  • Confer with supervisor regarding supplies for maintenance and repairs.
  • Replace, as needed, all light bulbs in residential and healthcare areas, Gathering Room, lounges, halls, and recreational rooms.
  • Keep in good repair all electrical devices in residential areas, such as fans, air conditioners, stoves, refrigerators, televisions, phones, and radios.
  • Be available for day, night, and weekend emergency calls.
  • Service PA systems and healthcare call lights as needed.
  • Service, as much as possible, all elevators within facility.
  • Assist with resident moves, as directed by supervisor.
  • Knowledge of locations of various departments within the facility, knowledge of the general policies of the facility, especially disaster and safety/hazard preparedness.
  • Participate in fire drills knowing the facility floor plan.
  • Confer with supervisor regarding new parts and repair of equipment.
  • Asist with other maintenance duties within the facility and in the villas.
  • Assist nursing staff, in emergency situations, if needed.
  • Notify administration and police if unusual incidents occur on the grounds or within the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Consistent, in-person attendance is a requirement of this
  • Maintains loyalty to, a sense of responsibility for, and pride in the accomplishments of the department and the facility.
