Quality Technician

Job Description:
  • As a Quality Technician II, you will take on a more advanced role in supporting quality assurance activities and ensuring product compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • You will perform complex inspections, tests, and analyses to maintain and improve product quality and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Functions:
  • Conduct advanced inspection and testing of incoming materials, components, and finished products using specialized equipment and techniques to verify conformance to specifications and standards.
  • Perform dimensional, functional, and visual inspections, including first article inspections (FAIs), process validations, and capability studies, to identify non-conformities and ensure product quality.
  • Analyze data and trends from inspection and test results, using statistical tools and methods, to identify areas for improvement and drive process optimization initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans, procedures, and work instructions to ensure consistency and reliability in quality assurance activities.
  • The Quality Technician participates in root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action (CAPA) activities to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement in products and processes.
  • Support calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of inspection and test equipment, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with standards.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior quality technicians and production personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-6 years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality management principles, practices, and tools.
  • Proficiency in performing complex inspections, tests, and analyses using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, trends, and statistical analyses.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action (CAPA) methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections, tests, and documentation.

Preferred Skills:
  • Technical training or certification in quality assurance, inspection, or related areas.
  • Experience with quality management software/systems (e.g., ERP, QMS).
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace).
