Our client is looking for a Grant Compliance Specialist to join their team. This role is essential for reporting, record-keeping, and administrative support related to various grants. The Grant Compliance Specialist will work closely with case managers to obtain, verify, and approve requests for Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA), while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality reviews of TFA requests submitted by internal and external case managers, ensuring all required documentation is collected.
  • Review information entered into the HMIS database and confirm client eligibility.
  • Prepare and submit check requests associated with approved TFA requests.
  • Serve as a point of contact for awarded grants and assist in the preparation of monthly and annual reporting.
  • Process monthly billing reports and supporting documentation for all grants.
  • Review invoices and supporting documentation from sub-recipients and submit requests for payment to the finance department.
  • Maintain supporting documentation and identify any compliance issues related to grant reimbursement.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and contractual requirements.
  • Communicate quality and compliance issues for corrective action.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring & Training Specialist to identify training needs.
  • Meet with funders and sub-recipients as necessary to resolve grant issues.
  • Maintain efficient work habits to meet deadlines and demonstrate respect for others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Associate of Arts degree in a related field or 3+ years of administrative, accounting, or quality assurance experience.
  • Previous grant experience, particularly with SSVF, ESG, or other Rapid Rehousing/Homeless Prevention Programs, is beneficial.
  • Must pass a Level II background check and federal-level drug screening (medical marijuana card not acceptable).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean 3-year driving history and required vehicle insurance within 30 days of onboarding.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Background in administration, accounting, or auditing is helpful.
  • Solid typing skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and responsive to deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Capability to learn and master HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) software.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit in an office or field environment.
  • Limited physical effort required; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle if local travel is necessary.
