We are a busy community non-profit clinic operating on two campuses and we see over 4000 patients per year. In addition, we serve as the training clinic for the 3rd ranked doctor of audiology program, University of Texas at Dallas, and we participate in translational research finding ways to move research to the clinic and have a direct impact on patient care The audiologist for this open position will be involved in the following: The performance of diagnostic and therapeutic audiological services on patients’ school aged to adults who have or wish to rule out hearing loss as the source of their communication disorders. This would include hearing aid dispensing and fitting of assistive technology when appropriate. Supervision of students in the doctor of audiology program Interprofessional and intraprofessional collaboration with audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and faculty at UT Dallas. UT Dallas Benefits: UTD pays 100% of the employee-only premiums for basic healthcare insurance coverage to include employees who are employed at least 30 hours per week. Paid time off for employees accrued based on time worked. UTD offers a retirement program to all employees. UTD observes all federal holidays which do not count against the employees’ vacation or sick time accruals. Other Department Benefits: $1500.00 annual professional development funds to apply to cost of licensure, certification, and continuing education. Uniforms- two sets of scrubs and two monogrammed lab coats are provided to the audiologist by the department head. Opportunities to participate in translation research if desired but not required. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Audiology. Certification by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. License holder or qualified to obtain license to practice Audiology in the State of Texas within 60 days of employment. Preferred Education and Experience: Doctor of Audiology (AuD) Degree awarded by June 1, 2024. 3 years or more of experience as a clinical audiologist is preferred due to supervision of student’s requirement. Experience in hearing aid dispensing for school aged to adult population preferred. Experience in the diagnosis and management of tinnitus preferred. Experience in clinical supervision preferred. Able and willing to work with and communicate in an empathetic, confidential, and professional manner to patients across age ranges and from all cultural linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required.
